Are you keen to be a part of the City of Culture or work in the creative skills industry? Want to earn money and get a job?

 

With the creative pathway project we could help you to progress to roles in the culture and leisure sector. You will be able to gain experience within the community arts, live events and promotion in the leisure industry, support roles within theatre and museums.

 

Hull Training and Adult Education is working with local employers to offer those on the project hands on experience, so they can gain the relevant skills and knowledge to get on in this sector.

 

The project offers a bespoke support package agreed to fit around your needs. We offer immediate starts with a rolling programme across a number of sites, days and times.

 

We are also running a number of 1 day accredited courses that participant can access as part of their time with us such as First Aid at Work, basic Food Hygiene and Health and Safety.

  • Creative Support Skills (8 weeks x 2.5 hours)

What will you be doing?

This flexible project aims to help young people aged 16-29 to prepare for employment, helping them gain the skills, experience and confidence to find paid work.

 

The project will help those attending to:

 

  • Obtain a rounded view of the creative sector
  • Understand job opportunities available
  • Acquire a relevant, transferable, work-related skills
  • Creative workshops, hands on activities and volunteer opportunities
  • Explore career and job opportunities and access specialist support from qualified careers advisers.
  • Maths and English where required

 

Creative Media (8 weeks x 2.5 hours)

Understand how to gather customer requirements, produce storyboards, Scene structures and work plans.

Create a young people’s guide to the city of culture, using the latest design skills. This may include creating a digital publication to include video, photographs and written reviews and be involved in the marketing and publicity of the project.

 

Creative Support Skills (8 weeks x 2.5 hours)

The creative and Culture sector is growing within Hull, with emerging new business and job opportunities. The 8 week course aims to prepare you to work in a support role such as administration, box office, events planning, Library assistant, museum assistant and ICT.

Progression:
